Facebook is apparently beginning to focus more heavily on decentralized cryptocurrencies that were created without its direct involvement. At the same time it seems to be particularly attracted to projects that may be close to the areas of NFT, Metaverse and Web 3.0.
This is indicated by new information that Meta Platforms filed eight trademark applications on Friday, March 18, six of which are directly related to cryptocurrencies or blockchain technology. Like cryptocurrency tokens, financial trading, currency trading, blockchain software, virtual currency wallets, virtual currency exchanges, digital assets, cryptocurrencies and virtual currencies.
Let’s not forget the NFT
It is clear from the above that Meta is considering the extent to which it could play a role in the world of cryptocurrencies although it is not entirely sure of all the processes.
The first indication of the adoption of cryptocurrencies on Meta’s social networks, i.e. Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram is Mark Zuckerberg’s statement at the recent SXSW conference, where he confirmed that Instagram will implement support for NFT tokens in the near future.
