The company will start accepting cryptocurrencies only in select cities namely New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, and Las Vegas. Gucci will, of course, accept Bitcoin. However, among the accepted cryptocurrencies we can also find ethereum, but also the Elon Musk’s highly supported dogecoin or shiba inu.
Cryptocurrency payments in the store will be made using a link sent to the customer via email. The link will contain a QR code that will allow the payment to be made from the customer’s crypto wallet.
Gucci is not stopping at cryptocurrencies
The VAULT tab on their official website tells us that Gucci is planning to go the way of cryptocurrencies, metaverses, NFT or even web3. This concept can be found for example in the Metaverse world of Sandbox.

We can see that Gucci is serious about NFT in a project the company has been involved in. The project is called SUPERPLASTIC: SUPERGUCCI
Gucci is not the only company moving in this direction.
These moves are probably being made to get the brand out to young people. The younger generation is spending more and more time in the virtual world and at the same time, they are more and more willing to spend money in the digital world. There is also a lot of talk about creating clothing for digital characters in the metaverse.

Brands like Adidas and Nike are investing millions of dollars to engage in this new trend. Soon, for example, you’ll be able to wear your favorite NFT sneakers in the metaverse and walk around Sandbox or Decentraland with special Nike shoes created just for the occasion.
